To duplicate slides in PowerPoint, follow our step-by-step guide for a seamless experience.
Quick Steps
- Click and select the slide(s) you want to duplicate.
- Right-click the slide(s) to open the menu.
- Click Duplicate Slide.
Detailed Steps

Open your PowerPoint presentation if it isn’t already open. To do so, either double-click the .PPTX, .PPTM, or .PPT file, or open PowerPoint and navigate to File > Open to select your file.

Select the slide(s) you want to duplicate. The list of slides appears in the left panel. Right-click the selected slide(s). A menu will expand.
- If you’re using a Mac and do not have a right mouse button, hold down the Control key as you click the selected slide(s) instead.

Click Duplicate Slide on the menu. The duplicated slide(s) will appear immediately after the original slide(s).
- You can drag the duplicated slide(s) up or down the slide column to change their order in the presentation.
Additional Tips
- You can also select a slide in the sidebar and then press ⌘ Command+D (Mac) or Ctrl+D (PC) to duplicate it.
- If you copy large amounts of text or images, PowerPoint may prompt you about making this information available after closing PowerPoint. Click Yes if you’re closing your current presentation and planning to open another one to paste into.
