How to Group Objects in PowerPoint Quickly

Note:* Watch this short tutorial screencast or follow the quick steps below that complement this video.

1. Select PowerPoint Group Objects

To start, let’s say I have four images that I want to move together. Hold the Control button on your keyboard while clicking on each image to select them simultaneously. Then, right-click and choose Group from the context menu.

2. Move Items in Selected Group

After grouping, simply click outside the selected images, and then click back on any of them. You will see that all the grouped images can be moved together effortlessly.

As you drag them, you will notice that they all shift in unison, maintaining their relative positions.

3. Resize a Group of PowerPoint Objects

You can also resize the entire group by clicking and dragging a corner handle. Notice that all items scale down proportionately, keeping your design neat and consistent.

Additionally, you can group text boxes or any combination of objects on a slide by right-clicking and following the grouping step as mentioned previously.

4. Ungroup Selected Items

If you accidentally add an item to a group that shouldn’t be there, simply right-click on the group and select Ungroup. This action will separate the items, allowing each object to operate independently again.
