Understanding Curved Text
Curved text is exactly what it sounds like—text that forms a circle or semi-circle instead of a straight line. This type of text can significantly enhance the visual appeal of your slides. For example, it can be effectively used for logos or to emphasize a specific phrase.
How to Add Curved Text in Google Slides
Adding curved text in Google Slides can be tricky to figure out. Here are two methods that you can use to successfully incorporate curved text into your Google Slides presentation:
Method 1: Using PowerPoint to Create Curved Text
This first method involves using PowerPoint to create curved text and then transferring it to Google Slides. Ensure you have both PowerPoint and Google Drive available.
Step 1: Choose a Template

Start by selecting a premium template from Envato Elements. For this tutorial, we will be using the Kamsupay Google Slides Template, which features 20 unique slides in both widescreen and standard formats, along with three color schemes and built-in animations.
Step 2: Open PowerPoint
Open PowerPoint and navigate to the Insert tab. Click on the Text Box button, which will allow you to draw a text box on your slide.
Step 3: Apply Text Effects
After entering your text, highlight it and click on the Shape Format tab. Choose the Text Effects button, then select Transform from the dropdown menu. From there, pick the first option under the Follow Path section.
Step 4: Copy the Curved Text to Google Slides
Copy your curved text slide using the keyboard shortcut Command+C or by right-clicking and selecting Copy.
Step 5: Add a New Slide in Google Slides
In Google Slides, add a new blank slide by right-clicking between existing slides and selecting New Slide.
Step 6: Paste Your Curved Text
Right-click on the blank slide in Google Slides and choose the Paste option to transfer your curved text.
Method 2: Using an Online Tool
Alternatively, you can use an online tool to create curved text. TroyTube offers a free tool for generating images with curved text.
Step 1: Access TroyTube
Visit troytube.net . This tool simplifies the process of adding curved text, though it may be cumbersome for larger amounts of text.
Step 2: Enter Your Text
Click on the orange Enter Text button to activate a field where you can input your text, which will then be converted into curved text.
Step 3: Copy the Curved Text Image
Right-click on the resulting curved text and select either Copy Image or Save Image As from the menu.
Step 4: Open Google Slides
Navigate to your Google Slides presentation and right-click on the desired slide. Click on Paste to insert the curved text image.
Note: This method creates a static image of the curved text, making it uneditable within Google Slides.
Understanding Wrapped Text
Wrapped text refers to the technique of arranging text around images or graphic objects on your slide. This approach optimizes the use of space on your slide and enhances the overall layout.
How to Wrap Text in Google Slides
Follow these steps to effectively wrap text in Google Slides:
Step 1: Download an Image
Select an image from Envato Elements, such as the Red Orange Cute Kitten at Blue Wood image, to use in your presentation.
Step 2: Insert Your Image
To add the image to your slide, click on the Insert tab, then choose the Image option. Select the appropriate source based on where your image file is located and adjust accordingly.
Step 3: Add a Text Box
Remove any unwanted objects or text boxes, then add a new text box by clicking on the Text Box button in the ribbon. Draw the text box on your slide and enter your text.
Step 4: Add a Second Text Box
To create a wrapping text effect, add a second text box beneath your image by repeating the text box insertion steps.
Conclusion
By applying these techniques, you can enhance the visual appeal of your Google Slides presentations through curved and wrapped text. Experiment with these methods to discover new creative possibilities!
