How to Install Your PowerPoint Template
In this tutorial, I am using macOS with PowerPoint version 16.68.
Here’s how to download a premium PowerPoint template from Envato Elements:
1. Sign In
To download a premium template, you’ll need to be an Envato Elements subscriber. The first step is to go to elements.envato.com . Then, at the top right, click on the Sign In button.
2. Sign Up or Enter Your Information
To sign up, click on the Create an Envato Account button located under the greyed-out Sign in button.
If you already have an account or prefer to sign up quickly, you can continue using Google, Apple, or Facebook, or enter your username and password in the appropriate fields.
3. Search for Templates
After signing in, go to Envato Elements to find a premium template. Click on the arrow next to the search bar that says All Items.
When you click the arrow, a menu drops down. From the menu, select the Presentation Templates option to filter your search.
4. Enter Keywords
After selecting Presentation Templates, enter relevant keywords in the search bar. The keywords can be general, like PowerPoint, or more specific, like Green PowerPoint.
Press the magnifying glass button on the right side to search, or simply press Return on your keyboard.
5. Download a Template
Once you’ve pressed Return, various PowerPoint template options will appear. Follow these steps to download:
- Choose the best PowerPoint template that suits your needs.
- Click on the image to view details about the template (for this tutorial, I selected the Latte PowerPoint presentation template).
- To download the presentation, click on the red Download button on the right side of your screen.
6. Find Your File
After clicking the Download button, locate the PowerPoint template file on your computer, which may appear at the bottom of your browser window.
To easily find your file, drag it from the bottom of the browser window to your desktop.
7. Open Your File
The final step to installing your PowerPoint template is to open the downloaded file. It will likely be a zipped file. Double-click the zipped file to unzip it.
A folder will appear containing your template’s contents. Open the folder and click on the Latte-PowerPoint.pptx file, which will automatically open in PowerPoint.
How to Import a PowerPoint Template into Google Slides
You must have a Google account to upload your template to Google Slides. Here’s how to import your template:
1. Upload Your PPTX File to Google Drive (Method 1)
To import your PowerPoint template into Google Slides, first upload the file to Google Drive. Click on the +New button in the top left corner. A menu will appear; choose the File Upload option.
This will open a file finder on your computer. Locate your downloaded file and double-click it (or click Open).
2. Upload Your PPTX File to Google Slides (Method 2)
For a quicker method, simply drag and drop your .pptx file onto your Google Drive screen.
After dropping the file, a notification at the bottom of your screen will indicate that the upload is complete.
3. Open Your Template in Google Slides
To open your template, double-click on your file in the window at the bottom of your screen. Once you double-click, the template will open automatically in Google Slides.
Review the template and make any necessary adjustments.
