One year, 365 days (sometimes 366 days) — there’s a lot to do! Using a calendar is a great way to organize all the plans, projects, events, or tasks that may come up during a year so you don’t get lost or late for any of them.

For this reason, from Slidesgo, we want to explain how to make or include calendars in your PowerPoint presentations, so that, regardless of the theme of the presentation, you can keep everything well organized! Are you ready to create your personalized calendar? Let’s get started!

Steps to Create a Calendar in PowerPoint

1. Open a New Presentation

Open a new PowerPoint presentation to design your own calendar. Use a completely blank slide by navigating to the Home tab, clicking on Layout, and selecting Blank.

2. Insert a Table

Now, we are going to design the calendar by inserting a table. Select Insert > Table. In the Table window, set it up to create a table with 7 horizontal squares and 6 vertical squares.

3. Customize Table Design

In the Table Design tab, customize the table to give it the color formatting you want.

4. Fill in the Days and Dates

Fill in the table with the names of the days of the week and their respective numbers.

Pro Tip: You can also add the name of the month to your calendar. This can be done by adding a new row above the table. Click Layout > Insert Above, merge the cells, type the name of the month, and select center alignment.

5. Adjust Typography and Size

The editing possibilities are endless. Choose a typography that fits the style of your calendar. Also, adjust the calendar size as needed. To ensure uniformity, click Layout > Distribute Rows / Distribute Columns.

6. Position the Calendar Days

Position the days of the month in your desired layout. In our example, we have centered the days within the cells and aligned the text to the left.

7. Remove Table Borders

If desired, you can remove the borders of the table. In the Table Design tab, select Borders > No Border. Ensure you have selected the entire table before doing so to avoid removing borders from just one cell.

8. Personalize Your Calendar

Once the structure of the calendar is complete, you can customize it further with text boxes, images, and other elements. Here’s a simple example of the personalization steps:

  • Step 1: Remove the shading from the calendar structure. Select the entire table, go to Table Design > Borders > No Fill.

  • Step 2: Adjust the calendar’s position on the slide and insert a text box for the month name, using the same font as the calendar.

  • Step 3: Add a touch of color and summer vibes by inserting an image from your device. You can find free images on Freepik. After adding the image, right-click it and select Send to Back.

And just like that, you have your customized calendar ready! If you find you don’t have the time to create a design from scratch, there are two convenient options available:
