PowerPoint is one of the most widespread and widely used Microsoft tools in the world, allowing you to make high-quality presentations in a simple, fast, and visually appealing way.

Maybe that’s why presentations have triumphed in the world of business and education!

Whether you’re a professional or a student, you have likely needed to create multiple presentations throughout your career. This task becomes effortless when you have access to Slidesgo and its extensive templates. In this article, we’ll guide you on how to effectively combine different PowerPoint presentations into one cohesive file.

Merging PowerPoint Presentations

If your goal is to merge two or more presentations into a single file, whether to add some extra slides or to consolidate collaborative work from different teams, follow these simple steps:

  1. Open the first presentation. For this example, we’ll use the Minimalist Grayscale Pitch Deck template.
  2. Navigate to the Start menu and select New Slide. Click on the drop-down menu instead of the button. Choose “Reuse slides” from the options.
  3. A menu will appear on the right side with recommended presentations. To add your own, click on Browse. We’ll add slides from the Investment Business Plan presentation.
  4. Go to the specific location in the presentation where you want the new content to appear.
  5. Select the slides you wish to add and insert them one by one by clicking Insert Slide, or add all slides at once by clicking on Insert All.

Pro Tip: To maintain the original style of the slides you’re adding, keep the “Use source formatting” checkbox checked. This ensures the newly added slides retain their original design instead of adapting to the layout of your current presentation.

If you prefer a different method, you can also use the classic “copy and paste” technique, which is just as quick and efficient:

  1. Open the presentation where you want the new slides to be added.
  2. Open the other presentation and select the slides you wish to include. You can select multiple slides by holding Control and clicking on them, or select all by pressing Control + A.
  3. Right-click and select copy, or simply press Control + C.
  4. Go back to the first presentation, choose the desired location, right-click, and select Paste or press Control + V. Make sure to select “Keep source formatting” to preserve the original layout of the slides.
