Customize the Quick Access Toolbar for PowerPoint

Understanding the Quick Access Toolbar

Save, Undo, and Repeat are popular functions found in the upper left corner of every PowerPoint window. However, this toolbar can be customized to enhance your workflow significantly, making your PowerPoint experience more efficient.

Steps to Customize the Quick Access Toolbar

To tailor the Quick Access Toolbar to your needs, follow these simple steps:

• Access the Customization Menu: Click the downward arrow icon located in the upper-left corner of the PowerPoint window. This action will open the drop-down menu labeled Customize Quick Access Toolbar. Here, you can:

  • Add commands from the list by checking the boxes next to them.
  • For additional commands, click More Commands… Choose your preferred commands and click Add. Finally, click OK to finalize your selections.
  • If you prefer, select Show Below the Ribbon to position the Quick Access Toolbar beneath the ribbon for easier access.

• Directly Add Commands from the Ribbon: You can also add commands directly from the ribbon. Simply right-click on the command you wish to add and select Add to Quick Access Toolbar.

• Removing Commands: To remove a command, navigate to Customize Quick Access Toolbar > More Commands… Select the command you want to remove from the right-hand list and click Remove.

The commands you choose to include in your Quick Access Toolbar will depend on your individual workflow in PowerPoint. Here are a couple of useful commands to consider:

• Save As: This allows you to save your presentation in various file formats.
